Hello!
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto. My areas of interest include student activism, gender, political sociology, and race and colonization. I have done research on far right extremism in Canada and the mainstreaming of far right in formal politics both in Canada and the United States. I am a Social Science and Humanities Research Council Joseph Bombardier Scholar.
Research
Currently, I am doing research on youth activism in Canada and the United States.
Scholars have noted a significant rise in youth involvement in political and social issues and organizations in the past five years. We have also seen a rise in on the ground protests and rallies since 2015 in both Canada and the United States. How do young people choose to get involved in these movements? My research seeks to unpack this question.

I have also written for the public news forum The Conversation and Sociological Images on issues such as the rise of the far-right and populism in Canada's federal elections , the anti-vaccine "Freedom Convoy" in Canada , and rises in hate crimes .
